R&D Chemist (Hydrocolloid expert)

Notpla is seeking an R&D / Hydrocolloid expert on a full-time basis. We are looking for someone with a strong technical background in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science or Materials who can lead the development of new packaging concepts, drive relationships with external partners, and is able to evaluate, formulate and characterize new membranes to improve performance, reduce costs and enhance environmental qualities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Product development for edible and biodegradable hydrocolloid base packaging

• Exploring and researching new leads to improve packaging versatility, robustness and shelf-life

• Liaising with academic institutions and commercial labs to organize third party testing and negotiate service and product agreements * Innovate UK grant project management and execution

• Supervising chemistry interns with their research projects
